Choking incidents in children on the rise
(STLMoms) – Choking is a leading cause of injury in little ones, especially kids in four and younger. And that number is on the rise.
Researchers say about 34-children are sent to the emergency room everyday because of food-related choking. Items that caused the most problems were hard candy followed by other candy, bones, and meats.
Hot dogs have their own category. That’s because they caused almost three percent of the food-related choking cases.
