NYC Mayor Pushing Moms to Breast Feed

St. Louis, MO (STLMOMS) – New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is trying to get new moms to breast-feed over bottle feed.

Starting in September, participating hospitals in New York City will aim to limit the amount of formula they distribute. New moms who want formula will still be able to get it, however now they will have to ask for it.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends women exclusively breastfeed for the first six months of a child’s life.
