Kevin Cao Teen Chess Prodigy

(KPLR) – Teenage prodigy Kevin Cao is 15 years old and has been accepted into a very elite chess program. The Kasparaov Chess Foundation and the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis have partnered on a five-year grant program to help develop seven American chess prodigies from across the United States.

Kevin will take part in the Junior Chess Championships, July 10-15 at St. Louis at the Club.

The U.S. Junior Closed Championship will be held in St. Louis for the third consecutive year. The top Junior players in the nation will duke it out for the title of U.S. Junior Champion, $18,000 in prizes and a highly coveted invitation to the 2013 U.S. Championship.
