(STLMoms) – Certain soaps you may be using to wash your little ones may cause your child to test positive for marijuana.

Hospitals are seeing a higher number of newborns testing positive for pot. But the babies didn’t actually have marijuana in their systems. The false-positives were somehow caused by baby soaps and shampoos.

Urine samples that contained minute amounts of any five baby soaps gave a positive result. Those soaps were Johnson & Johnson’s Head to Toe Baby Wash, Bedtime Bath, CVS Night Time Baby Bath, Aveeno Soothing Relief Creamy Wash and Aveeno Wash Shampoo.

Doctors say the soaps are very safe. It’s just that they think in these soaps is a substance that’s triggering false-positive results.

False-positives marijuana test could lead to your baby being taken away. That’s why scientists say hospitals should also do a blood test too on a child, just to be sure.
