May is National Salad Month! Health Starts Here Culinary Educator, R&D Chef Chad Sarno From Whole Foods Market stopped by to explain why salads are good for you and how to mix it up so you don’t get tired of the same old thing.

Celebrate with healthy, nutritious and simple DIY salad dressings.  Salads can be a healthier choice, but toppings those greens, beans and veggies with the wrong dressing can turn that healthy choice into a SAD (Standard American Diet) one.

Nuts and fruits can make for creamy and flavorful salad dressings without adding any extracted oils or refined sugars, plus you get the healthier benefits of those nutrient-dense ingredients.
